Writing a blog post

A few tips for writing blog posts:
  • There is no need to be formal, or too long. You are not writing an article for a society journal. You don’t need to cite the source for every fact, although you will have more credibility with other genealogists if you do.
  • If you cut and paste text from somewhere else it will have invisible formatting that will be incompatible with the blog formatting. You need to either copy it to a simple editor like Wordpad first, or go in to the blog's HTML editor and remove the extra formatting. Only do this if you know what you are doing.
  • Don't leave it until you have all the information. You never will!
  • Include at least one picture, to make the post more appealing and interesting.
